Welcome to the TOEFL Prep 12 Class

You have probably had a great deal of experience studying for the TOEFL. In this class, we will try to expand your knowledge of the English language in terms of listening skills, vocabulary & grammar, as w ell as reading skills. In addition to these skills, you will also have many chances to work on a computer to find resources that will help you with  your studies.

I will be adding new links, exercises, and quizzes from time to time. Also, I'll put the ho mework for the class on this page. Please check this class page for any new information.

Homework
For class on 10/11, finish the "Internet Scave ng er Hunt" worksheet and decide which textbook you will use for this semest er (you do not need to bring or buy one for class). More details about wh ich sections to work on will be announced in Fr iday's class. Plus, if you have NOT done the onlin e quiz, please do that before Friday's class.

For Tuesday, 10/15, finish the "Test Performance Analysis" worksheet and do 5 EXERCISES OR 5 PAGES of t extbook work that focus on the section you are w eakest in.

Every Tuesday, complete ONE TV & Movie Report. Remember you can view English movies at the KG Library or Language Center Library (Bldg. 4, 3rd floor), rent a video, or watch TV.

For 10/22, have your next TV & Movie Report and finish the 3 additional synonyms, antonyms, and meanings from context worksheets.

For 10/25, please do the online readings. They are timed and the website has other exercises for vocabulary and comprehension.

For Tuesday, October 29th, please finish the next TV & Movie Report and do 2 of the CNN readings with 2 activities (total 4 printouts).

The homework for 11/15 is to do the online stru cture quiz.

In class we reviewed prepositions and did the worksheets you made focusing on prepositions. For homework due on 11/19, finish the worksheets on "Parts of Spee ch" and bring in the next TV & Movie Report. We will review the answers for the onli ne structure quiz in class.

The homework due on 11/26 is your next TV & Movie Report and the 9 Dialogs based on the idioms you missed. Remember to do the idiom exercises in the 3 Categories you chose in class.d
