Chapter 1: Psychology,
Research, and You
The activities are an very
important part of our course. Points are assigned for each activity you complete.
You may choose two of the following three to do for credit (10 points each).
On Page 34 of out text there is a chart
that outlines the major perspectives in psychology. Read it carefully. Write your response to the
following question as an e-mail
1 Perspectives Of the 9 perspectives outlined, which makes the
most sense to you and what are your reasons for answering the way you did?

2 Make a Graph Take a few minutes and sketch a graphic representation of a
perfect relationship between two variables and then sketch a graph that shows no
relationship between two variables. How are the graphs different? Bring
your written answer (not your graphs) to your instructor.
3 Discussion Question Most college
and university students take a course in psychology as part of their general course of
studies. Why do you think psychology is so important for all students to take in
college?"
