Directions for Individual Project: Personality Analysis
Objectives:
* Research and report on the characteristics of a famous person’s personality.
* Apply knowledge of two theories to analyze this person’s personality.
PART I: Research & Report
a) Identify a famous person that you admire and research their personality and accomplishments (focus on WHY you admire this person).
b)Write about one page describing this person to someone who does not know them.
Be sure to use all your own words: SUMMARIZE! Also cite all sources you use.
PART II: Analyze
a) Choose two of the personality theories that we have studied.
b)For each theory (so you do this TWICE) write ½-1 page that:
* Describes the main points of the theory in your own words.
* Explains what this theory says causes differences in personalities.
* Uses the theory to explain specific characteristics about the person you admire (characteristics that you wrote about in your report).
This is the most important part of the assignment--the majority of your points will be earned with quality analysis.
GRADING CRITERIA:
PART I: Research & Report (10 points)
* Research of the person is thorough; information is clearly summarized in student’s own words.
* Work is free of spelling & grammar errors and is legible (if not typed).
PART II: Analysis (16 points)
* Two theories are applied & the basis of each theory is clearly explained in student’s own words.
* The person’s personality/actions are explained in student’s own words based on each theory.
* Work is free of spelling & grammar errors and is legible (if not typed).
PART III: Citing Sources—use APA style (4 points)
* All sources are properly cited at end of paper using APA style (refer to Saber Style Handbook).
