Sra. Leitch will be using storytelling as the "backbone" of her instruction as she helps students acquire a new language. Students will learn vocabulary using "gestos" (gestures), as well as having the opportunity to star as the characters in the stories. They will regularly retell stories to a partner and may have a homework assignment in which they will retell a story to someone at home. As the year progresses, students will begin to write their own stories and read mini-novels and children's books in the target language.
