Welcome to our recycling web page. We are making this website to inform the public about the importance of recycling in our school. Recycling is a proccess designed to recover and reuse materials instead of throwing them out. Normally recycled waste consist of aluiminum steelcans, glass, containers, and paper. We think that if we can start recycling that we will have a nicer and less polluted life. Also if we recycle we will not have to dig ore out of the ground as much. We also wouldn't have to cut so many trees down . Manufactures melt down old cans and make new ones . Manufactures also turn recycled paper into cardboard, paper, and plaster board. Some manufactures mash the glass and can even use it in road construction. This is why we think you should call right now and get off of your junk mail list. That would save some valuable trees. Did you know that the average person gets a tree and a half of junk mail every year?! That's a lot of trees cut down in one year. Did you know that just the copy machine in our school gets 750,000 pieces of paper every year?! We get 1500 reams of paper every year for this machine. In every ream there is 500 pieces of paper! If we recycled that paper we would save a lot of trees. Also, our junk mail group is working to get us off of the mailing list of the junk mail companies, because we get too many letters that are just using up valuable paper. It is also important to recycle all of the other things that can be recycled. Other things are just as important as recycling your paper. You can recycle cans, bottles, and many other things. Please, recycle your cans and bottles. Did you know, that 240-288 cans and bottles come into our school every year?! That's a lot of tin! It is fascinating how much energy is saved from just recycling one can! 95% of the energy it takes to make a can is saved when YOU recycle your cans and bottles. When you recycle your can, the manufacturer doesn't have to mine the ore, ship the ore, mold the ore, make the tin, and ship the tin to whoever wants it! Just from one can!:) And think of what it would save to recycle all of the cans coming into the school. If we could just recycle the 87,000-105,120 cans and bottles coming into the school every year we would save a ton of energy.
