Ideas for class parties, in room activities and birthday treats:
1. Ask parents to provide empty water containers or a plastic cup for their child’s party drink. Serve lemonade from a pitcher or use 2 liter bottles rather than hand out 20 juice boxes.
2. Consider the necessity of paper plates. Cloth napkins could serve as the serving plate for cupcakes and other snacks.
3. Paper decorations such as streamers and confetti cost money, make a mess and simply end up in the landfill. Please avoid these items.
4. Some parents like to include party favors. Please be thoughtful when purchasing such items. Most small, plastic trinkets end up the trash soon after receipt. Consider purchasing or making edible favors or items that could be reused.
