HOW TO HELP YOUR CHILD RELAX

1. REFLEXOLOGY
When your child with a disability is out of control, how do you calm them down?  One way is REFLEXOLOGY.  Reflexology is the art of massaging hands and feet putting pressure on specific points.  One popular use of Reflexology is to relieve stress.  Wouldn't it be great to learn a few easy hand massages that could be of great use to help our children and students remain calm.  Check out the links below to learn more.  This link will better help us understand ways of helping our children relax, and calm down.  Perhaps it will be an answer to our children who really might not need the meds but Know of no other alternative.

2. YOGA
YOGA is another way to relieve stress in your child, especially in ADD children.  Breathing deeply, and stretching are 2 ways to relax; these are both elements of yoga.  Check out the special yoga link below and click on the Attention Deficit Disorder link.  This link will better acquaint you with an overview of children and yoga, and literature to help facilitate this activity at home and in your classroom. Yoga could be a great and easy way to start and end the day.  Have a session inviting the parents in to demonstrate and encourage the use at home.  This is another great idea that could help our children without the use of medication.
