This AP Biology course follows the guidelines and standards instituted by the College Board. It covers all required topics as designated in the AP Biology course description. There are eight major themes that will be integrated throughout the curriculum according to the College Board requirements: 1. Science as a Process 2. Evolution 3. Energy Transfer 4. Continuity and Change 5. Relationship of Structure to Function 6. Regulation 7. Interdependence in Nature 8. Science, Technology, and Society 9. Study of Organisms including Plants, animals, bacteria and viruses 10. Diversity of Life This course is also a laboratory course and you are expected to conduct the required 12 labs that work in conjunction with this course. Through labs you will learn to problem solve, apply the scientific method, learn research techniques, generate hypotheses, and evaluate results.
