The Biology course curriculum is designed for you to continue the investigation and understanding of biological science that began in earlier grades. This course will focus on several key concepts including cell structure and function, inheritance and protein synthesis, populations and communities, life functions of protists, fungi, plants, and animals as well as several more.
Course Outcomes This course was designed with specific outcomes in mind. When students complete this course, they will be able to
1. Plan and conduct investigations in a variety of methods are used.
2. Investigate and understand the history of biological concepts.
3. Investigate and understand the chemical and biochemical principles essential for life.
4. Investigate and understand relationships between cell structure and function.
5. Investigate and understand life functions of archaebacteria, monerans (eubacteria), protists, fungi, plants, and animals including humans.
6. Investigate and understand common mechanisms of inheritance and protein synthesis.
7. Investigate and understand bases for modern classification systems.
8. Investigate and understand how populations change through time.
9. Investigate and understand dynamic equilibria within populations, communities and ecosystems.
