*Reading News...Look in the Friday folder each week for information on the story, spelling words, and vocabulary words of the week.
Science News...We continue to learn about producers, consumers, decomposers, food chains, and food webs. We will have a quiz and notebook check on this material (pages 19-27) on Tuesday, February 26. Our unit test and notebook check is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5. Thank you for helping your children to find their science fair experiment ideas! I am looking forward to seeing these ideas put into action!
In Other News...
DARE… DARE Graduation will occur on Tuesday,
March 25, at 2:00. Students will write a DARE essay as a requirement to graduate from the DARE program. Students will learn about this assignment in the next few weeks.
Science folders…Thank you to those who have brought in two extra green folders for science. We have two more units to go in our science curriculum and are in need of more notebooks. Please send in two green pocket folders with brads by March 5. I appreciate your flexibility with our growing need of more supplies.
Highlighters…Thank you so much for sending in highlighters to Mrs. Lenahan’s class! We greatly appreciate it!
Storybook Character Parade…To finish off Read Across America Month, we are marching in the Storybook Character Parade on Friday, April 29. Students are invited to dress as their favorite storybook character and walk holding their books. Families are welcome to stand along the “parade route” in the bus loop to watch all the classes go by. We’re looking forward to our fun event!
