COURSE DESCRIPTION A study of the “whole person” development and a wide range of practical Christian ministry application is presented. Physical, intellectual, social, moral, and faith development over the entire age span is considered. All of this teaching will be applied to practical ministry to the individual within the local church. This course covers the life span development from a Christian perspective. COURSE GOALS This course is designed to help the student: Increase his or her understanding of human growth in relationship to ministry with persons of all ages. Discuss human development during the entire life cycle and understand his or her own growth and the development processes going on in others. Demonstrate an understanding of and the ability to apply the concepts of human development within the ministry of the church and his or her own ministry. Understand people as a result of understanding self. SYLLABUS Course is divided into two (2) major parts: 1. Human Development - How we grow physically through stages. 2. Faith Development - How we grow spiritually through stages This course requires several major projects. 1. Life Stress Test 2. Humanmetrics Typology Test 3. Marker Events 4. Integrative Development 5. Biographical Sketch of your Life 6. Life Mission Statement; Life Vision Statement; List of Goals 7.
