What's happening for the week of May 14-18...
I am sorry that I did not update the site on time this week! I am running a little behind. I will update this site at least once each week. Please check it often for information about our class.
We will continue our unit on dinosaurs. We have learned about herbivores/carnivores, extinct/living, etc... Ask your child to sing our dinosaur songs to you! :)
This week's sight words: review all words
Please work on writing and reading sight words at home. The kindergarten list is on the kindergarten web site. Also, there is a link on the web site that has other high frequency words that your child will see in many books.
Math: We finished the time chapter. We are moving on to addition. (joining sets) We have worked on addition throughout the spring semester. We have used a number line and draw dots to help with the addition facts.

AWARDS DAY: We are excited about our awards program. We will sing a few songs, receive awards, and have a slide show. You will not want to miss it! I hope to see you there! :)
HOME READERS: These books are designed to build reading skills. After you read the story with your child, he/she may enjoy writing about or drawing their favorite part of the story. Your child may also retell the story in his/her own words. Please practice retelling the story at home. Both of these activities build reading comprehension skills. Please read with/to your child every night!
SUMMER READING PROGRAM: I sent home a packet concerning the Greentree Summer Reading Program. I cannot stress how important it is to continue reading through the summer! This program will provide a good way to keep your child reading this summer.
