Welcome to the Reading Room for the 2007-2008 year!
The Reading Room is open each morning from 8:15-8:30, and from 2:45-3:10 for book checkout. Books on every Accelerated Reader level, organized by grade level, are available for the students. Twice monthly, during special reading classes in the Reading Room, students in grades one through five will be able to check out books. Pre-K and Kindergarten students may visit the Reading Room during early morning and late afternoon scheduled times for checkout. Parents and teachers are encouraged to come and browse our shelves with these young students.

What are special reading classes like? The reading specialists plan lessons that coordinate with classroom curriculum and SOLs. First through Fifth grade students meet for these lessons once weekly.
What other duties do reading specialists have? Reading Specialists have scheduled reading groups in grades one through five throughout the week. In some cases, reading specialists work with students on creative writing lessons as well.
