ABOUT ME
Hello, I've been teaching here at RVES for 7 years. This is my eighth year here. I taught kindergarten for four years previous to teaching second grade. I am a mother of two wonderful children, Sam and Mia. Sam is 12 and in the seventh grade. Mia is 8 and in the third grade. My husband works in the demolition industry and has fun tearing things down. We have many hobbies and love the outdoors. Our family rides ATV's and motorcycles often. We are also very involved in our church.

DISCIPLINE POLICY
Every day students begin with 5 tokens in a little cup on their desk. These tokens are called "monkey money" or just tokens. As the day progresses students may earn or lose tokens. Good behavior gains tokens. Turned in homework gains tokens. Neat work gains tokens. Well mannered students and positive behavior also results in a token gained. Misbehavior warrents the loss of one or sometimes two tokens depending on the severity of the behavior.
At the end of the day students come up to the teachers desk and count their tokens.
Students with 5 or 6 tokens are told "You had a good day!"
Students with 7-9 tokens are given a "Happy Note" and they may choose something from the treasure box.
Students with 10 or more tokens are rewarded with a "Good Time Coupon".
*Good Time Coupons are small slips of paper that are rewards for great behavior.
Some examples are:
*Eating lunch with the teacher
*Write with ink for a day
*Eat lunch with another 2nd grade class
*Invite someone from another 2nd grade class to eat with you
*Use the teachers chair

*Library is also on Fridays at 2:15.*
*Guidance is every other Monday at 2:15*
