HOMEWORK 2-25-02
Please make sure that your child arrives on time to school. Students should keep their homework chart in the same folder. Encourage your child to put their newsletters/school information inside their homework folders. Please set up a routine so that your child shows responsibility. Furthermore, please make sure they do not leave their Accelerated Reading book at home.
Your child will get a homework chart at the beginning of each week. These assignments are due the following day. If your child misplaces the homework chart, you may find it at my web page. I will get back to you as soon as possible. There will be no homework on the weekends. Students have one day to complete late assignments, or they will receive a failing grade. Late assignments are reduced to a C.
FCAT testing is coming. Students should treat every test the same. THEY SHOULD TRY THEIR HARDEST ON EVERY TEST! Please discuss the strategies with your child. FCAT testing is next month.
* Write words with your word problem answers!
* Double-check your work when you are done.
* Do not spend too much time on one problem.
* Skim the reading selections to find answers.
* Look at the tables/charts/graphs very carefully.
* Know what mathematical operation sign is being used
* (-, +, x, or division)
* Skip difficult problems and come back to them.
