ASSESSMENT
As an officer/senator in the class, you are required to chair (or co-chair) at least one Standing Committee and one Homecoming Committee. You are to be an active member in at least one other Standing Committee and one other Homecoming Committee.
By the second six weeks, each chair running one of the Standing Committees addressing the state submittal for the outstanding awards will need to have a plan in place for the number of projects to be completed over the course of the year and when.
For grading purposes, the following criteria will be used:
Project proposals—25%
Committee meeting—25%
Committee report—25%
Participation—25%
PROJECT PROPOSALS: Each six weeks, students must submit three project proposals electronically by the end of the third week. These proposals need not be only for the committee that you chair. Each of your proposals must be presented to the class (typically during the fourth or fifth week) to determine whether or not it should go before the committee for which it was created. Three (3) proposals will earn 100%, two (2) proposals will earn 85%, and one (1) proposal will earn 75%.
Please use Electronic Project Proposal Form to submit all proposals.
However, this year to prepare for State, the proposals that need to be submitted for a grade are 1) a music clip dealing with the State Theme, 2) a video clip dealing with the State Theme, 3) Fundraising Proposal
COMMITTEE MEETING: As committee chair (and co-chairs), you are expected to have AT LEAST one committee meeting a six weeks. From the project proposals that are approved in the class, you will pick those projects that you as a committee want to complete. Minutes of this meeting are to be submitted. A productive meeting with minutes will earn 100%. A meeting with no results and no minutes will earn a 75%. No meeting will result in a 0.
COMMITTEE REPORT: At the beginning of each six weeks, as chair and co-chairs, you will need to present to the class what your committee has accomplished during the previous six weeks. This report must also show documentation of the on-going work for the state submittal for the outstanding awards. Report including state submittal documentation will earn 100%. Report without documentation will earn 75%. No report will result in a 0. The following reports will need to be maintained and submitted each six weeks.
