Instead of printing out your articles for your research paper, save them to a MS Word document.

Suggestion: Create a folder on your U drive for this research project and save each article into the folder. It is a good idea to have a flash drive so that you can make a back up of all of your articles in your research project folder. This will also allow you to take the articles home.

Web pages:
Save the URL (Internet address)
Type in the date that you accessed the web page. Example: Mar. 3, 2010
Copy and paste the entire text of the web page.
Save the MS Word document.

Articles from databases:
Copy and paste the entire text of the web page into a MS Word document.
Generate or access the citation (see below) and copy and paste it into the same document.
Save the MS Word document.

Most databases provide you with an MLA citation.
For EBSCO: Click the yellow icon with the quotation marks.
For Proquest: Click the "Cite this" link.
For Gale Network:Click on Citation Tools and choose MLA 7th edition. Then click on Save and Open.
For Sirs:The citation is at the bottom of the article.
For Issues and Controversies: The citation is at the bottom of the article.
For Global Issues in Context: Click on Citation Tools and choose MLA 7th edition. Then click on Save and Open.
For Health and Wellness Resource Center:This database does not generate a citation. Be sure to copy the entire text of the article. Note that you found the article on the Health and Wellness Resource Center. Enter the date that you accessed the database.
