Discussions for GUI HTML Editors
This lesson introduces you to working with GUI editors. In this lesson you will introduced to creating Web pages using GUI editors. You will gain an understanding to the advantages and disadvantages to using GUI editors vs a text editor for creating Web pages. You will also come to understand the differences of GUI editors and GUI Web site managers. Consider the following as you work through this lesson and prepare to discuss in class:
1) What are some advantages to using a GUI editor?
2) What are some disadvantages to using a GUI editor?
3) Would you ever use both a GUI editor and normal coding? Is there an advantage to this?
4) What is a Doctype? What does it have to do with GUI editors?
5) How do post, or publish, a Web site?
Research:
Use your text material and the Internet to research and prepare to discuss the following:
Have you ever used a GUI Editor to create a Web page? If so be prepared to discuss features you like about the editors.
How many GUI editors are there? Do an Internet search for GUI HTML editors and get an idea of how many there are. Look at information for a few of them and see if they are a like or if they are basically different. Are there advantages to using a particular one over another?
