Discussions for XHTML Coding
This lesson introduces you to the basic coding of a Web page. You will be introduced to the basic structure of a page, markup tags and good coding practices. Consider the following as you work through this lesson and prepare to discuss in class:
1) What are the major parts that need to be included in a Web document?
2) What are some differences between HTML and XHTML?
3) What are the benefits of using style sheets? What do you have to do differently in your document to be able to use them? Anything?
4) What are some advantages and disadvantages to good coding? Give examples.
Research:
Use your text material and the Internet to research and prepare to discuss the following:
Find and be prepared to discuss some examples of bad coding practices on the Internet.
Code your personal page. Using a text editor, create a basic page about yourself using the techniques and tags from this lesson. You will continue to modify and change this page in future lessons. Once you have the page to the point you are satisfied with it be sure to validate the code.
