Discussions for Horizontal Rules and Graphical Elements
This lesson introduces you to some more elements of a Web page. Here you will learn about inserting and controlling horizontal rules and the basics of inserting and controlling graphics on a Web page. You will also discuss more about good design principles and document structure. Consider the following as you work through this lesson and prepare to discuss in class:
1) What is a horizontal rule and how do you implement them?
2) Discuss the principles of inserting pictures in a Web page?
3) What factors do you need to consider when using graphics in a Web site? Anything?
4) What considerations are there for using colors on your Web site? Give examples of what you consider sites with good color combinations and sites with bad color combinations.
Research:
Use your text material and the Internet to research and prepare to discuss the following:
Code your personal page. Continue working with the page you created in the previous lesson by implementing horizontal rules and inserting at least one image into the page. Play around with color combinations for your page and pick a combination that you feel works well for your site.
