Restaurant Project

Part I: MENU

You have recently graduated with high honors from the New York Culinary Institute.  Because of your love for the Spanish language and Hispanic culture you have decided to relocate to the capital of a Spanish-speaking country to open an American restaurant.  You have already found a locale in a trendy neighborhood and all that needs to be done now is to create an eye-catching, mouthwatering menu (in Spanish) to attract diners to your restaurant.  Since not everyone in the world loves American food (believe it or not) you must also include one typical dish or tapa (appetizer) from the country in which you now live for each meal (breakfast / lunch / dinner / dessert). The menu should be created using Power Point so that it can be projected onto the Smartboard on the day of the presentations.

Part II: RESTAURANT SKIT

You have finally created your menu, hired your staff and are now presiding over the grand opening of your restaurant. With your partners you will act out a brief scene at your restaurant (ordering food, expressing your preferences/likes/dislikes, etc).  One of you will play the part of the waiter and the others the diners.

This project will be counted as a test grade.
Students who use a “translator” or do not cite their sources will receive an F.
