Homework and Objectives

Materials/Supplies Needed Students will need a 3-ring binder or binder section (keep all your papers in your notebook), standard blue or black ink pens (not shiny gel pens), pencils with erasers, and notebook paper. For extra credit students may bring up to 3 of the following: (1) packs of disposable mechanical pencils (preferably yellow Papermate); (2) packs of 2 retractable black or red pens; (3) packs of blue or black pens; (4) three packs of notebook paper [count as 1 item]; or (4) a box of Kleenex.

Course Description
Biology I involves hands-on laboratory activities as the student investigates and learns about issues and interactions between man and his environment. The overall ecology curriculum covers the environment in which organisms live, how organisms interact with the environment and the impact of human activities on the environment. Students perform scientific lab procedures which require them to form hypotheses, collect data and report results.

Class Expectations
Students are expected to bring the text, blue or black pens, sharpened pencils, a 3-ring binder or section and notebook paper to class every day. Each student shall complete and turn in daily assignments. You must be present to receive a participation grade. These cannot be made up but there will be additional extra credit opportunities. Consideration of others and attentiveness are expected at all times.
