¡Bienvenidos! Most students are familiar with Mexican foods, but have you ever tried a Spanish dish? Do you know what people in Spain eat? This will be an exciting task for you. You will have fun learning about Spain's tasty cuisine!
Task
1. Research Spanish food customs on the internet and answer a questionnaire.(Print it out below!)
2. Study the Spanish Food vocabulary and complete the online quiz (Take in class, not in the lab or LMC)
3. You will then create a Spanish restaurant menu including:
*A menu cover that illustrates Spanish food and/or culture
*10 authentic Spanish foods
*1-3 sentence description of each food (even a picture!)
*Prices of the menu items in EUROS and American Dollars
Process
1. Search these sites below for one class period, saving pictures and ideas as you go to in a Microsoft Word document. Be sure to save this information often in your directory.
2. Answer questions on "Food Customs Questionnaire" worksheet (print it out below) and turn in. All worksheet answers are found on the website links below.
3. Create a menu. You can use a Word Template to help with the layout or you can do it on your own. Take pride in it and make it look colorful, nice, and professional. You must have the following items in your menu:
*A menu cover that illustrates Spanish food and/or culture
*10 authentic Spanish foods with 1-3 description (and photos?)
*Prices of the menu items in EUROS and American Dollars
4. Learn the food vocabulary by playing the game below (there will be an option to print out a list of terms for you to study).
5. Take the food vocabulary quiz online (multiple choice)when you are read--MUST BE TAKEN IN CLASS under supervision of Señora Fruit. Do not take at home or in computer lab.
Evaluation
Student completion of worksheet......Takes place of Class Homework
Student completion of menu......Earn 1-3 free homework passes for your effort.
Online quiz.......Takes place of number/verb "to go" quiz that rest of students are taking
