Welcome to SHHS JROTC.
Science Hill's Army JROTC has a long and distungished history at Science Hill. Currently SHHS Topper Battalion is made up of 120 cadets. All of these cadets do their best to make Science Hill proud in the many various activites in which the JROTC particates. Some of these activities include Drill, Color Cuard, Rifle, Orientering, parades, acedemic bowls, and many others. JROTC Cadets also take many different classes such as financial planning, winning colors, military history, map reading, thinking maps, first aid, marksmenship/weapon safety, military rank, judicial system, drown-proofing, PT, current events, political science, and projects on people influential to America. The SHHS JROTC also gives back to their community in various ways such as passing out Valentine's Day Cards at the VA, flagraising details, manning ticket booths at local events, ushering at programs and football games, and by using the values taught to them in JROTC to influence all those around them.
On Wehnsday, November 11th we celebrated Veterans Day with our annual Veterans Day Ceremony. Our guest speaker was Major Larry Taylor who just recently returned from Afganistan, and we would like to thank him for his comments and his service to his nation. The cadets did an excellent job, especially Brittany Adams, Lisa Carter and Adam McElroy on their speaking parts and Jessica
Kedzierski on hosting the ceremony. We also would like to thank the student body for their respactfulness during the ceremony.
