This week in 5th Grade Math:
This week we will be covering 'I can' statements numbers 2 and 3 in the Geometry strand.
2. I can use define ray, segment, line, point, plane, skew, parallel
and perpendicular.
3. I can label vertex, rays, interior and exterior angles.
We will take our half-length practice test this week covering all of the things that we have learned so far this year. We will begin our geometry unit on Thursday.
This week in 6th grade math:
This week we will be working on "I Can" statements 4, 5, 14, and 15 in Number Sense.
4. I can find specific percent of a number.
5. I can explain ratio, proportion, and percent.
14. I can use proportional reasoning, ratios, and percents to solve problems.
15. I can find percent increase or decrease.
We will finish our unit on number relations this week and begin our unit on probability next week.
6th Grade Language Arts:
This week we are working on the the useage of commas in direct address and appositives in grammar. We will begin writing our DARE essays during our extended writing time this week. The students will have to complete the essays by December 10th. We will also be working on an acrostic poem this week. The students will be making, "Peppermint Poems".
