This web page is primarily for students and parents who are receiving services as special education students. I teach two resource classes. First period is Math and second period is Language Arts. Lessons and materials used in these classes are designed by the teacher to meet the personal academic needs of each of my students as those needs are spelled out in the goals and objectives of their Individual Education Plans (IEP).
January is upon us and review for semester exams is most important. In just a few days we wil be entering our second semester. New beginnings and new opportunities abound.
For Language Arts class we are going to continue to develop our reading skills. Think about how important reading is to the whole learning experience! Not just in school but in the whole of life.
In math class we are going to be focusing most immediately on fractions. It is important to become familiar with how fractions work. Of course the basics of math will always be the foundation of all of our math studies. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division will be practiced and practiced and practiced leading toward mastery of the basic skills and then we will continue to use them as each of my students will for the remainder of their lives.
I am as close as your phone or your computer if you wish to contact me with special concerns about your students educational experience. I see us as co-coaches of a team. Your child is the team and we are coaching and cheering them on toward their highest level of academic accomplishment. I believe it is important that we keep each other informed of progress and needs. So please feel free to communicate.
