Welcome to the So Bo Co FCCLA Website!
This year the members of SoBoCo FCCLA have been enjoying working together and attending as many activities as our busy schedules allow. We started the year strong with a group of returning senior girls to create a foundation and pass on the enthusiasm to incoming members.
We attended Region 4 leadership conference in Wentzville in October and ACCESS FCCLA at Tan Tar A as well.
This spring semester, Tuesday McConkey attended Region 4 STAR Events and placed Gold for her Teach and Train project. Congratulations!!!
FCCLA Week was a chance for our local group to raise awareness regarding violence issues. Each day was designated as an awareness day for a specific type of violence related to teens..dating, school, bullying, etc. We hung balloons with the day's focus and included announcements in the student bulletin with information regarding violence awareness. The chapter members celebrated FCCLA week with a trip to a nearby ice arena and a pancake breakfast hosted by Mrs. Mohlman in the FACS classroom.
March saw the planning of our Stop the Violence program for the middle school take shape as members met regularly to plan the events and activities they plan to do in April with the middle schoolers. Tuesday McConkey attended State STAR Events to compete with Teach and Train. She achieved a SILVER medal at this event. Congratulations to Tuesday!!!
We are planning a senior members farewell gathering the first Tuesday in May in the FACS room. Any student eligible to be an FCCLA member will be invited to attend and hear the seniors share about their FCCLA experiences and to promote new membership for the following school year. We will also begin planning for the fall membership kick off and summer activities we can do to create more interest in the organization.
