Today we began Chapter 14 THE CIVIL RIGHTS ERA.
In studying this chapter we will:
- Describe the legal and social challenges to racial segregation in the 1940's and
the 1950's.
-Compare and contrast the presidencies of Kennedy and Johnson.
-Discuss the areas of civil rights that groups tried to improve in the 1960's and
the methods those groups used.
-Trace the effects of the Civil Rights Movement on minorities other that African-
Americans.
May 7 Homework
Read Letter from the Birmingham Jail on p. 445 and answer the question at the end.
The Chapter 14 test will be on Monday, May 14.
EXAM INFORMATION
The exam will cover Chapters 8-14. I will send home suggestions for preparing for the exam by the end of this week.
