Hello! I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself! My name is Shelley Schmidt and I am honored to be one of your child's 4nd grade teachers for the 2008-2009 school year.
I grew up in Belvidere, Illinois. I graduated from Illinois State University with a specialization in Special Education (grades PreK-12). I love what I do and feel blessed to have this as my chosen profession. I look forward to working with your child over the next few months and helping them succeed in school. I want this to be a memorable year for your child, one filled with learning and fun. With your partnership, I know we can provide him or her with a wonderful educational experience.

Remember, not only am I here for your child, but for you also! Communication is the key factor to a successful parent-teacher relationship. Please visit our class website often to see what is happening in our classroom. It is updated often with plenty of information concerning upcoming events, news, and weekly spelling words, etc.
