Students earning all 20 Self-Control stickers for the month will be invited to a Self-Control Party at the end of the month. (Movie, extra time in the computer lab, read & feed, extra game time, or an extra recess)

Grading

All grades in the core subject areas are figured on a point system.  Daily assignments and homework are worth 5-50 points, quizzes and test are worth 10-100 points, depending on the assignment and test.  Points will be noted on the returned paper.  For example 9/10 (90%) means the student received 9 out of 10 points possible.  A letter grade will be assigned according to percentage points:  100-90% = A, 89-80% = B,  79-70% = C, 69-60% = D, and 59 and below = F.  Graded papers are sent home every Friday with a weekly slip that is to be signed and returned on Monday.  Grades are sent home mid-quarter, at the end of each quarter, and at the end of each semester.  Parent's may view grades on our district website anytime during the school year.

Responsibility

It is in your child's best interest that we (parents, students, and teachers) work together to provide the best learning environment, and the best education possible.  None of us can do it alone.  All students will need to take responsibility for their learning and for their behavior.  As a teacher, I will be responsible for teaching the curriculum to the best of my ability, and for providing a fair and safe learning environment.  As parents, your responsibility will be to support your child's education, check over daily/weekly assignments, and to be aware of your student's classroom involvement and behavior.  Make sure they get a nutritious breakfast daily and a good night's sleep!  Together we will make this a wonderful year!!
