LESSON PLANS: JUDI MARTIN  March 5, 2004

1st PERIOD (Latin 7th Grade---Room 110)

1. On the counter behind my desk in Room 110 there is a GREY file box (I keep it on the counter next to the closet).  In this box you will find a handout and a worksheet standing up.  Both deal with the Perfect Tense.
2. Distribute handout and worksheet to students.
3. Tell students that if they follow the directions on the handout, step-by-step (without skipping any steps) they will be able to form this new tense.
4. Side one of the worksheet really looks like side two…because I accidentally punched the holes in on the wrong side.  They should do side one first (it will be easier for them).  They should follow the model in the chart.
5. PLEASE WRITE ON THE BOARD:
· YOU MUST USE YOUR PRINCIPAL PART SHEETS!
· YOU CANNOT DO THIS NEW TENSE WIHTOUT THEM!
6. Students may work with one other.  You might have to remind them of  “volume control” as they may become too loud at times.

HOMEWORK:  Finish both sides of the worksheet on the Perfect Tense

2nd PERIOD (Latin 6th Grade---Room 110)

1. These students should continue to play their games.  They know that they are kept in the long drawer behind the teachers’ desks.  I believe they are in the 2nd drawer.
2. Each time a group plays a game they must fill out an evaluation form (I left numerous blank copies of this form in the drawer with their games.)
3. Please make sure that all evaluations have both the name of the game and the evaluators on it.
4. Students should play the games for the entire period.

HOMEWORK:   Make sure your notebooks are organized!  NOTEBOOK CHECK ON MONDAY.  Please remind them that I don’t let them go to their lockers to get notebooks so they must bring them to class with them.

3rd  PERIOD (Latin 8th Grade--- Room 110)

1. These students are to work in pairs on the following assignment (if an odd number of students are present in class allow only one group of three):  Write out a translation of the story which they have been working on pages 25 & 26.  ( I don’t have a copy of the book at home so I cannot give the exact title).  They have been working on this story at the end of class twice already this week.
2. When they finish that story, they should start translating the next story.
3. Each student should write their own translation.  Remind them to skip lines as they go.
4. Please collect their work at the end of class (even if they have not finished).  Tell them to make note of where they left off so they may finish for homework.

HOMEWORK:  DUE MONDAY, March 15 (because of GEPAs)…finish both story translations.
