Hello, my name is Angela Maglieri and i chose Italian poetry for my project because I am Italian, and I would like to read about the struggles memories of the past throught the eyes of the Italians, not the text books. I chose Italian poetry because I am mostly Italian, and I love to read, so I decided that I might as well research the reading I like the most which is poetry, because you really can't write poetry unless you feel it in your heart. So My project is on the poetical history of Italy and the occurances that occured there and the feeling. People say that Italy is a place of romance, comming from the poems, now I know why. the feelings that come from these poets is incredible. maybe because its part of my culture, because I've read a milion poems in my life and never felt the way i felt reading the poetry of another Italian person. I realized that even the words spelled in Italian looks beautiful. I hope that one day i can take the time to learn the language and go to the country, for a week or longer to study it. From what I've read about him and of his poetry, it is said that Giacomo Leopardi is the greatest Italian poet of all time. Giacomo lived in the same part of the country as my family, and died there. He shares the same birthday as my grandmother, and died the day after my birthday. I think thats kind of neat. There are so many places to look for things like your culture on the computer... If you can find the transulate button. I wish my parents could have taught me Itailan, but they didn't know it to begin with. hopefully someday I will learn it and teach it to my kids to know for when they grow up and have projects in school. from what I've read, Salvatore Quasimoto was from Sicily. Its a part on Italy, but the northerners don't really like them because they are very bitter rude nasty people. I personally don't know any, and from what I've heard I hope i don't meet any! It was very dificult to find information on these poets, because they were all in Italian and the school computers were too slow to translate them. well i hope that everyone likes my website, and enjoys the game and the quiz! have a great day!!!
