WELCOME!!! I hope you find the information on this web page helpful!
This information is for the week of December 9th - 13th:
Math: We are finishing up our Geometry unit. We will be learning about volume and then reviewing for the test. The test will take two days, Thursday and Friday. Please try out the Math link below to practice skills for the test. It will take you to the web site that is associated with our text book. We also will get a another Review Packet on Monday which will be due on December 16th.
English: (Mr. Butterfield) We are reading the novel Swallowing Stones. Each student should now have journal entries through Chapter 9. These entries will make up the grade at the end of the book, so they should be kept secured in their English binder.
(Mr. Czerpak) The class is finishing up their autobiography. They are also working on using a story web to enhance their reading comprehension of short stories.
Science: We are working on the Astronomy Unit. An Astronomy project has been assigned and is due after vacation on January 10th. The first part has already been turned in. There is a report attached to this project that should be worked on over vacation. The test for this unit will be on December 18th.
Social Studies: We have just begun the next chapter on Immigration. This chapter will be completed before vacation and will be tested on Thursday, December 19th. A practice test can be found using the Social Studies link listed below. This may be helpful in addition to studying your flashcards. A Document Based Question (essay) has been assigned and was worked on in class for 2 days. The final copy is due on Tuesday, December 10th, and should be typed unless a student does not have access to a computer.
Exploratories: Mr. Sheffer's class needs to be reading a book of choice in order to write a book report. He would like them completed before vacation. Career projects will be due before vacation in Home and Careers. Students should be completing final copies of each page as they are assigned in class. Art students will also have a report due on an artist in addition to a sketch replica prior to vacation.
