Course Description
Latin I: Students will learn basic grammar and syntax including the first three declensions of nouns, the four conjugations of verbs - active and passive voices - and Latin vocabulary with an emphasis on derivation and assimilation. Students will also gain an understanding of the Greco-Roman world through a study of the history, mythology, and culture of ancient Rome.

Class Expectations
Students are expected to be in their seats when the bell rings, to have all materials that are required for class, and to have assignments completed when due. Students should have good attendance and avoid getting behind in class. Anyone experiencing difficulty should report for tutoring (AHS: Tues.-Thurs. 7:45-8:10; JSB: Mon.-Wed. 3:10-3:45 ).
Weekly Objectives
Unit V Objectives: To learn all active tenses for 3rd and 4th conjugations; to learn imperatives for the same; to learn interrogative particles and how they are used to ask questions; to understand appositives and the case required for them; to learn new vocabulary and phrases; to learn more about Roman history and daily life.
