We had a great time on our fieldtrip to the Mayor's office.
MATH-The class will continue studying probability and statistics next week. We will work on our multiplication facts (0-12) every day. The students are given a three minute practice test each morning. The flashcard activity below will help us practice the basic multiplication facts (10-12). The students have created their own multiplication flashcards.
SPELLING-We will be studying unit 26 next week. We will continue the "word of the day". The students will expand their vocabulary by studying words from grades 5-12.
READING-We will continue reading, "There's an Owl in the Shower," next week. We will also work on a novel learning center. The students will continue to learn about literature circles. We are also working on our monthly reading projects.
WRITING-We will continue working on different types of writing next week. We will also work on punctuation through our daily oral language review. We will continue writing in our journals.
SOCIAL STUDIES-We will begin studying Chapter 10 in our social studies text. The chapter will discuss The Civil War. The students are working individually and in groups.
SCIENCE-We will begin studying science. Unit A: Earth's Land-Chapter 2-"The Importance of Natural Resources."
