Dear Sea Turtles,

Welcome to my "OUIA" web site. Here you will find games and activities to go along with the chapters in our text book as well as the other class activities. This is the second year of a brand new course, so I am still adding games and activities to help you learn each unit. I will also post class info such as due dates of projects, tests and quizzes. The links listing will take you to helpful web sites to use as resources for projects and assignments.

Here are a few tips to help you find success in sixth grade:

Be sure to come to class with your materials: binder, assignment book, completed homework, pen, sharpened pencil, a blue or black pen and a colored pen for correcting.

When you are absent, you are responsible for making up missed work. Be sure to look at the weekly homework sheet posted on the board and to check in with me when you return to school. It is important to complete missed work as soon as possible. If you would like to review what you missed, check this site for after school extra help days. Please remember that I am here to help you so don't hesitate to come see me and ask questions.

MARS READING CLASSES:
You are responsible for:
1. having a PRB with you when you come to class
2. reading 2 hours each week at home; that's 30 minutes each day for 4 days

SOCIAL STUDIES CLASSES:

Extra Help Sessions are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 2:10 - 2:45
If you are unable to come on these days, please see Mrs. Tasker to schedule a more convenient time.

Reminders for the weeks of November 16 - 24, 2009:
You will be working on the 5 theme tab booklet for your country in South America.
Be sure to bring the directions packet to class with you each day.
There will also be related homework.

Dates to remember:
Friday 11/20: notes and bibliography information due
Monday 11/23: pictures due
Final Project Due: TBA (to be announced)
