Welcome!

It is important that people are interested in Marine Biology, for Marine Biology could be an answer to alternative energy, great vacation, job opportunity and many other problems today's society faces. This site will mostly focus on great marine biologists or oceanographers and how we can prepare for the future.
Some great scientists from the past and present are Dr. Robert Ballard and Jaucques Cousteau.
Dr. Ballard
Dr. Robert Ballard is an oceanographer who rediscovered the wrecked ship RMS TITANIC and has gone on over 100 underwater voyages using numerous different submarines. Having started dreaming at a young age, Dr. Ballard also started the project JASON, created as a science program for schools. His inspiration for becoming a scientist started when he watched "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." Fascinated by captain Nemo and the under water world, he decided he wanted to become just like captain Nemo when he grew up. Instead of being concerned or doubtful, his parents encouraged him and told him what he should do to achieve that goal, or at least the part about being a scientist and not the part about being insane. To this day, Dr. Ballard has encouraged children to chase their dreams
In his expeditions, Dr. Ballard has explored numerous wrecked ships including the "Lusitania," "TITANIC," "Bismark," and "USS Yorktown." Also, he has explored sunken ships from ancient times in the black sea. Influencing many, Dr. Ballard has also written many articles and journals.
Jaucques Cousteau
Jaucques Cousteau was a great explorer who made expeditions all over the world. He started exploring in his small boat 'Calypso'. Some of the places he explored include: Alaska, Canada, Sea of Cortez, Mississippi, Cuba, Amazonia, Cape Horn, Antarctica, New Zealand, Austria, Polynesia, Nile, Madagascar, South Africa, Indonesia, Danube, Mediteranian and Lake Baika. Also, he has made many inventions.
So next time you go to the ocean, think about the countless mysteries that lie beneath the surface waiting for someone to discover its secrets.
