<(*.*<)Eco-Friendly Solutions For Your Home<(*.*<)

On this site you will learn all about ways you can make your home more environmentally friendly inside and out.

1:If you want to reduce the amount of energy it takes to light your house, you can replace all your light bulbs with energy efficient compact fluorescent bulbs(CLF).These CLFs are cost a little more than the standard light bulb, but they last up to 10 times longer, use 1/3 the amount of energy and give off 70% less heat! Other ways to reduce your energy bill are doing things like purchasing energy star appliances and unplugging all electronics that are not in use. It is important to unplug your electronics because most devices still consume energy even when they are not turned on or in use. Now you may be asking how reducing your energy consumption helps the environment. Most energy supplied to homes is produced by combustion (burning coal or another type of fossil fuel). This releases CO2 (a greenhouse gas contributing to global warming), SOx (leading to acid rains), and NOx (acid rains and morbidity of living creatures)

2: Recycle everything! When you recycle, you do a lot more than just save space at the landfill. The plastic 6-pack holder rings sit in a landfill for 450 years, a glass bottle sits for a million years, a plastic bottle lasts forever. Recycling one aluminum can save enough energy to keep a 100-watt bulb burning for four hours or run your television for three hours. 2/3 of the aluminum ever produced is in use today. So RECYCLE!
