Term Project Instructions

Your term projects for this course can be presented in two or more forms.

You may choose:

A five page paper (double spaced)

A 15 slide PowerPoint presentation

Something else creative as you like (check with me on YOUR IDEAS on this one) This is very open to your creativity so don't be afraid to do something very different, especially things that may involve or engage your classmates).

Any option should be an example of your scholarly investigation of a topic we have covered in class, or a topic we may not have covered.  The topic must have a relationship to the scientific study of psychology, human behavioror, or be about an important figure in psychology.

Your work must be properly cited in the text of your paper and on a reference page or slide and include three references besides the material in our text book.

References should not be older that 2003

You must use your own words and do your own work.

Here are "sample citation" instructions

Use an "in line" citation style in the text of your paper, for example:

According to the authors the effect was....... (Bradman and Odgaard, 1999).

Several have explained the results to be significant (Johnson, 1999; Halverson, 1997). Others have claimed procedural errors (James, Freud, and Tinbergen, 1999)

Every Paper, PowerPoint, or other type of final presentation must have a reference page with all authors listed correctly with the name of the work cited.  Just type "Work Cited" or "References" at the top of the very last page or slide. In the event you do another type of presentation, put your resources on a separate page formatted in the same way.  URLs should be listed as live links on the reference page.
