Activities and assignments for May 7-10

Theatre I:

Tuesday:  Students will be given background and information on acting styles and characterization.  Students will then watch two videos on bringing a character alive from a playbook page to the stage.  This will be to help students prepare themselves for their monologues which are due on Monday,May 21.

Thursday:  Students will continue their characterization study with the completion of the remaining video started last time and a new one which shows ten ways to prepare a character for the stage.


Theatre II:

Monday:  Students will continue work on their end-of-school production to be given at the luncheon for teachers on June 1.  Reminder to students:  Your play synopsis, set design, costumes, and playbills will be presented in class on Wednesday.

Wednesday:  Students will present their play elements as assigned.  After that, students will continue the end-of-school work and everything must be memorized by the time we return from the long weekend on Monday, May 14.


Theatre III:

Monday:  Students will read through the end-of-school performance and be reminded that their play synopsis, costume and set design, as well as their playbill will be presented to the rest of the class beginning tomorrow.

Tuesday:  Presentations begin.

Wednesday:  Presentations continue.  End-of-school performance rehearsed as time allows.

Thursday:  Presentations continue and are completed.  End-of-school performance rehearsed and reminder that all parts must be memorized upon returning from the long weekend.  We will begin rehearsing with those from Theatre II on Monday during ninth period in the auditorium.
