Dear: Parents/Guardians

I am the Business Computer Technology and Keyboarding teacher and your child is enrolled in my class for this semester. I would like you to know that this website is established for students to work on, outside of class, it includes typing exercises, quiz games, and upcoming projects we will be doing in class. Every three to four weeks I will have Extra Credit work that the student can do and turn in for points to be added to their grade.

8th Grade Students: I have websites under "Useful Links", to help them get ready for the Computer Skills Test. Each eight grader has to pass this test before the twelfth grade to graduate from High School. So why not pass it now? This website will definitely prepare him/her for the Test. Even though we will be preparing to pass the test through daily class work, more practice is always better.

So even if your child is in the 6th grade or 7th grade, this would be valuable for them to go to under "Useful Links". For 7th Grade Students: I have typing games and exercises to help them improve on Home Row Keys and basic computer quizzes focusing on hardware/software and computer terms.

Current objectives we are learning in the 8th grade.

CT001. Examine the role of hardware and software.

CT01.01 Identify the parts and uses of a computer hardware system.
CT01.02 Analyze the information processing cycle including various storage methods.
CT01.03 Explain the advantages and uses of operating system and application software.
CT01.04 Define and demonstrate computer maintenance and care.

Write a one page report or type about what you can use hardware or software for dealing with a computer?

Find an article about Software in a newspaper or magazine, bring into class for credit. (Not from the Internet)

If you could make your Dream Computer what would be the software in it and what hardware would you add to it, write it up or type it-bring into class for credit.
