We have just finished our most recent book clubs. Check in with your child to find out what chapter book he/she read and discussed in a small group.
The students are progressing with their multiplication/division facts. The goal is to know them well and fast.
We are beginning our study on animal adaptations. We are learing about what body structures and behaviors help animals survive. Chat with your child to uncover what he/she has learned!
In writing we are studying the genre of narrative writing. We are reading a variety of narrative picture books and discussing what those authors have done to make their writing good. The students have started to write about times in their lives and are emulating some of the techniques of the authors. Wait till you hear these stories!
Parent/teacher communication is so important. Please contact me by email, note, or phone. Just sending a message to touch base can be valuable. (A compliment about something your child has worked hard on, lets him/her know "we talk" and are working together to grow him/her!)
