Welcome to 7th Grade Reading.
Students will have many opportunities to practice and improve their reading skills this year and even learn new reading strategies. Readers will enjoy meeting new characters in the pages of many different types of books and stories. We will read mysteries, adventures, myths and fables, novels, short stories, biographphies and many other selections of non-fiction.
We also practice and learn new computer skills while working on Internet projects. One of these projects is a webquest titled "On the Day I Was Born". This is a favorite in 7th grade.
Students also work on many projects to complement their reading. They will create an ABC Book, movie posters, chapter maps and a hamburger book report.
Students also have a nightly opportunity to improve and practice their reading skills using self-selected books, articles, newspapers etc. and completing a nightly reading log which is to be signed and is collected every Monday.
