WELCOME TO THE LIBRARY! 
Mission Statement
The Towne Acres Elementary School library media center will support and
enrich the instructional curriculum and provide services and materials which meet
the informational and recreational reading needs of our learning community. The
library media center staff will strive to provide instruction and opportunities to
assist students, faculty, and parents in becoming effective users of information
Information. 
*Borrowing privileges are extended to all members of the learning
community. While the circulation period is two weeks, the library media
center is flexible and will extend the circulation period to help students
meet their individual reading and information needs as well as support any
classroom research needs.
* Students may check out 2 books for a period of two (2) weeks. Fines are not
charged for overdue books; however, students with overdue books will not be
allowed to check out additional books. Students must pay to replace lost or
damaged books.
*In addition to the open circulation hours (to be announced), classes are scheduled into the library on a rotating basis for formal lessons covering grade level appropriate information literacy standards. Teachers may request additional class time for special projects or research. The library media specialist and classroom teacher will plan collaboratively to ensure that all class sessions support and extend the goals and objectives of the classroom.
