Welcome to Journalism!
ATTENTION: All students enrolled in this course MUST have their WCS email login and password information. You must be able to access email at school in order to participate in Newspaper activities. You WILL NOT be allowed to use personal email accounts for Newspaper submissions.
You will need the following materials for this course:
- 1-1 1/2 inch binder
- 1-2 packs of notebook paper (wide or college rule--your choice)
- writing utensils (pen or pencil--no red ink!)
- flash or jump drive (This is a recommended purchase; you are not obligated to buy a flash drive for this class. However, all final drafts for the Trojan Voice must be submitted electronically, and flash drives are very helpful in this process. You may use a flash drive that you have already purchased for another class for this class as long as your other teacher approves.)

Instructional Objectives
Students will spend the opening weeks of school learning how to make the school newspaper. Activities will cover the following topics:
1. How to Conduct an Interview
2. How to Write BOTH a News v. a Feature Article
3. The Basics of InDesign
4. The Basics of Photography
5. How to Sell Ads and Ad Requirements
The first edition of the school year will be out at the end of September.
