Welcome to our First Week of Summer School! First, I would like to put you into a relaxed state. There will be NO homework assigned over the Summer School sessions. All work will be completed and turned in for a grade during class hours. The goal of this summer session is to help you learn those areas of math that may have given you trouble during the school year. My goal, as your teacher, is to present those facts in a more meaningful way. The following is a general plan that we will follow most days: Our Day will be broken up into two segments. *1 Math Concepts a) Daily Math Skill ( 15 mins. ) b) Math Lesson for the day (30 mins.) c) Math games to play when ever you finish your work. (1 - 4 players) *2 Life Skills a) Study Skills for 8th Graders b) Career Exploration Our class mascot is "Shiv", a 2 year old 3/4ths Chinese Shar Pei & 1/4th Lab therapy dog. She has many tricks and talents. I am sure you will want to spend time discovering all of them. Shiva also knows some American Sign language. Perhaps you will find time to learn some signs and talk to her. Come and Share the Summer Adventure with Shiva and Mrs.Tyler
