-discuss adjectives that change meanings (nuevo, viejo)
HW- bk p. 101, 102: all
Day 3
-practice tener expressions, nationalities, and adjective meanings
-do audio activities for er/ir verbs, nationalities, and descriptions
HW- CP p. 31-32: 1-3
Day 4
- go over quiz, homework
- practice possessives
HW- CP p. 27-28: 3-6
Week of Nov. 2-6
Day 1
- discuss Dia de los Muertos

Day 2 Sub
- go over new adjectives bk p. 89. Together (out loud is fine) do bk p. 90-91- intentalo, 1-3.
Do bk p.92:4 for more practice, if needed. 20-25 mins?
-Read En Defensa de los Vampiros individually or together. I usually have them read in English. Pick out adjectives and write down any new words.
In small groups (2-3) write 7 questions that could be used as a quiz for the other class(three closed (yes/no) and four open (with question words)).
HW- cp p. 25 all, 26:4
Day 3
- go over hw and turn in
- practice family vocab
- describe what the people do (professions) and where they do it
- describe people in the photos
HW- on garage band, records good descriptions for the two photos attached to the assignment on the HIES site.
Day 4
-discuss and turn in garage band descriptions.
-practice more descriptions with professions and nationalities
-review er/ir verbs
HW- complete the ER/IR worksheet that is attached to the assignment on the HIES class page
Week of Oct. 26-30
Day 1
-go over hw- family names and relationships
-begin family vocab using my family tree
HW- BK p. p. 79-80 act 4,6,7
Day 2
- finish discussion of family tree- royal family
- go over hw

Day 3
- go over hw
- practice family vocab and names using the Duck family tree
HW- bk p. 79:1-3 you have to use the Descubre web site because there is audio for two activities.

- practice estar with prepositions of location and retake quiz
- practice ser/estar with pictures
HW- practice chpt 2 vocab and grammar

- discuss origin of Spanish language and conquest, christianization, and colonization of New World.
HW- begin to practice family vocab

HW- complete ser/estar worksheet that is attached to the homework description on the HIES site
SORRY, I FORGOT THE INSTRUCTIONS! FILL IN THE BLANK WITH SER/ESTAR ON THE FIRST PART AND TRANSLATE THE SENTENCE ON THE SECOND PART.

- go over ser/estar worksheet- give rules for each use
- practice estar with location; practice all with photos
HW- Read the pages and do the activities on bk p. 68-69, 71
Week of Oct. 5- Oct. 9
Day 1
- practice interrogatives; take quiz
- go over hw (cp p.19) and practice numbers
HW- bk p. 65:1,3*** record onto garage band
- label ' last name, bk 65:1,3
- record on voice track
- introduce yourself and then read activities
- save and then 'share' to 'send song to itunes', the name doesn't matter but remember to compress to mp3
- drop in my drop box before class
