Dear Host Families,
Guess what, everybody! That's right! The status of our exchange has, once again, changed from "postponed until April, 2002" to "possibly in the fall 2001".
I received an e-mail from Madame Bouvier Wednesday afternoon. (It's included below in an effort to prove that I'm not the one who is constantly changing my mind.) She is wondering if it would be better to stick with the October dates. One major reason is that if they come in the spring, Continental Airlines will charge nearly double what the rate for this fall was. She and Monsieur Martineau feel they can't ask the parents to pay that much money.
The meeting they had scheduled for September 28 will still take place at 6 pm (noon Fairview time). She asks: If the parents agree on October, and if Continental can give them rates closer to what they had paid before, will we still be willing to take them?
Since I haven't cancelled any of our field trip reservations yet (I guess it pays to be optimistic, and slow), resuming will not be a problem for me. Hopefully in the confusion we haven't lost any of you.
I expect to hear a response from Cholet after their meeting on Friday. You can expect to hear from me shortly afterwards.

"Nous nous demandons si nous n'allons pas devoir partir comme prévu du 19 octobre au 1novembre !!!
si vous voulez toujours de nous !!! Si nous partons au printemps la compagnie aérienne ( la
Continental ) propose un tarif presque 2 fois plus cher !!! nous ne pouvons pas demander cette somme
aux parents . Alors Jean qui est revenu de chez sa fille hier et moi- même sommes dans un état
psychologique horrible . La réunion avec les parents a toujours lieu vendredi 18 heures . Si les parents
disent oui pour le mois d'octobre et si La Continental nous propose les billets aux tarifs présédemment donnés penses- tu que vous pouvez nous recevoir encore §§ réponds- vite à une pauvre femme qui ne va pas pouvoir dormir cette nuit !! Je m'en veux de ne pas avoir attendu pour annuler ce voyage !! Comme il est difficile de prendre toujours " the right solution at the right time "
