Bonjour, mes élèves, Pour le mois de février: Français Exploratoire Seminary Hill School:We have just begun to learn French together since the start of the second semester. We chose new French names, and wrote them on name cards to use in class. Then, we practiced the sound of the single-digit numbers. We are sharing phone numbers in class by saying: "Mon numéro est _ _ _- _ _ _ _. We write it on personal marker boards, then say them aloud in French. When someone gets a classmates number right, s/he gets to share her/his number next! Français I-7: We are learning all about food, drinks, and the euro currency. We are expressing our food and drink preferences, and practicing how to order and pay for food in a French restaurant. All this talk about food sure makes us all anxious for lunch. Bon appétit! Français I-8: During February we will be reviewing the family terms that we studied in 7th grade. We will talk about family members, and pets. Then we will review the whole unit about going to and coming back from locations in town. We will also review stress pronouns, and how to talk about playing sports, games, and musical instruments. Français I LHS: During February, we are learning about activities ( -er verbs ). We have talked about what we like and don't like to do, what we prefer to do, what we would like to do, and what we want to do. We are using all of the forms of être to describe where people are located. We have already used some of these forms to talk about nationalities, and to tell time. Au revoir, Madame Cooney
