WELCOME TO THIRD GRADE!

Dear Third Grade Parents:
We started a novel study this week. Please make sure your children read the assigned chapter/s in Mr. Popper's Penquin and answer questions in Journal.
Chapter 8 needs to be done for homework. You may read the chapter out loud to your children too. Have them reflect on the questions.
We are learning this week about the following skills:
Reading: (Comprehension skill) Reading Mr. Popper's Penquins Novel Study
Math: multiplication/division
Grammar: Contractions
HOMEWORK: May 20, 2010
Religion-
Math- Time Test Friday in Multiplication this week. Practice facts
Reading- Read: Read Chapter (8) in Mr. Popper's Penquins and answer questions
Language Arts-
Spelling-
Science- Read handout on Rocks and Rock Formation. Our final science test will be done in class and this handout will be used to find answers to questions. Test is Monday May 24th. We will read together and learn how to skim and scan for information.
